The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Habit 1: Be Proactive
Image result for be productive
“Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that’s why it comes first. It says, “I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I’m responsible for my own happiness or unhappiness. I am in the driver’s seat of my destiny, not just a passenger.”
REFLECTION: What this quote means is that being proactive is the main key. In other words that you choose what and what not to do the only person that has control of yourself is you. No one else makes decisions for you but yourself. You choose the way you want to live no one chooses it for you. If you want to be unhappy the rest of your life is because you decided to no one else did.
Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind
Image result for Begin with the end in mind
"Control your own destiny or someone else will." (Jack Welch)
REFLECTION: what this quote means is that you have to be the one in top of the game. You have to be successful in life. For example if you are a boss at a job no one will tell you what to do. On the other hand, if you don’t do well in school and have a bad job someone else will tell you what to do. They will have control over you instead of you having control of yourself. You have to control your own destiny by setting big rules and meeting them. You have to be in charge of what you want to do when you are older. If you don’t become successful someone else will control your destiny. In other words people will tell you what and what not to do.
Habit 3: Put First Things First
Image result for put things first
“Organize and execute around priorities”

REFLECTION: what I think this quote and habit means is that you should always put the important things first and worry about the other later. Be organized about what your plans are and what is going to get done now. You should always put the important things first like for example school. There are things you have to sacrifice for you to get through situations. For instance what would you prefer go party now and have fun with your friends and not graduate or do something good later on for yourself in the future, or study do good in school successes go to college and have fun go to parties then. You should always think it like this do what will benefit you later on in life. You should always out your priorities first then anything else because sometimes you can’t go back and redo the mistakes you have done. If having a  book of goals to help you stay in track then I believe you should go for it because it’s really important to do good in school because that determines the job you will get later on in life.

Habit 4: Think Win-win
Image result for think win-win
"Think win or no deal."
REFLECTION:  what i think this quote means from the 7 habits is that you have to win and you will do so. thinking of winning in the terms of choosing the right like doing good things and accomplishing all your goals. Think win-win doesn't mean getting prizes or getting thinks it can mean to accomplish goals that you set for yourself.

Habit 5: seek first to understand then to be understood

Image result for seek first to understand then to be understood
Habit 6: synergize
Image result for synergize
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts
Synergize is teamwork, open-mindedness, and the adventure of finding new solutions to old problems. But it doesn't just happen on its own. Like when they say two heads is better than one.  It’s a process, and through that process, people bring all their personal experience and expertise. Together, they can produce far better results that they could individually. It is the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Teamwork is a good example to help clarify what this habit means. Teamwork is a good example because like I said two heads is better than one so that means more creativity and the other can think of some good ideas you wouldn’t think about. Or in class you guys all work as a team and do your part so you can gather everything up and make it as one.  When people begin to interact together genuinely, and they’re open to each other’s influence, they begin to gain new insight. It’s really important to be opened minded to understand others thoughts and ideas.  Another example of synergize can be in any sport like basketball you have to learn how to communicate and understand each other. By communicating I mean in the sense of working together to help score a goal.

Three Fundamental Techniques in Handling People & reflection

Three Fundamental Techniques in Handling People

1.       Don’t criticize, condemn, or complain
“If you want to gather honey, don’t kick over the beehive”
Treat people as you would want to be treated. For example, if you want someone to be nice to you, then be nice to them. Most of the time people will react the same way as you approach them. It’s can also mean that if you are mean to others they will react the same way you act. It’s like when you say I heard that you were talking about me and they have been your friend for a while it’s like how do you expect them to come at you like. You can’t tell what to do all you can do is give good advice. Don’t talk about no one’s past or what they are going through if you never been through where they have. It’s not right to assume or talk about someone you don’t even know like that. If someone asked for favors don’t complain or anything just politely say yes or no and say a reason why you said yes or no don’t just be rude and say an upsetting comment. You can’t be mean to no one if you aren’t ready for someone to treat you bad.

2.       Give honest and sincere appreciation

“The big secret in dealing with people”
You should always be honest with someone because you wouldn’t want them to lie to you. If you see there doing something that can give them bad consequences tell them if they don’t listen it’s up to them. Just the way you would want honesty, it should be the same towards them.  Be very sincere with people and appreciate what they do for you and how they take some time and spend it with you. That’s why when you have a friend that is having trouble go ahead and help them and show them that you sincerely appreciate what they do for you. Being honest with people is the key to deal with people you can’t be around talking to people and lying about what you like and dislike about them. I have always applied this in my life style because I believe that honesty is the key to friendships. It is also a base to have a healthy relationship with a partner or just a friendship.

3.       Arouse in the other person an eager want
"He who can do this has the whole world with him. He who cannot, walks a lonely way."

Reflection

What I learned from the Three Fundamental Techniques in Handling People is “don’t criticize, condemn, or complain “which means that you should treat people the way you want to be treated.  For example if you want someone to come at you with a good attitude you have to do the same respect someone else like  you want to be respected. It can also mean that do not go negative. People just don’t want to hear it. The second fundamental technique called “give honest and sincere appreciation” means you should always be honest with someone because you wouldn’t want them to lie to you. If you see there doing something that can give them bad consequences tell them if they don’t listen it’s up to them. The keyword is sincere. If you’re not being sincere, people will know it. Try to find something to appreciate in all of the people that you meet and know. The last fundamental that I was introduced to was, arouse in the other person an eager want. What that means is that it means that you want to get people motivated, keep them motivated, and spur them on.

School break days

School break days
What I did on my break was spend time with my family and friends. I also had a reunion on Thanksgiving Day with my sister that lives far away from home. I went to many places during my break for example to the mall, movies, Olive Garden, red lobster, the gym, Mi Lindo Nayarit etc. I watched the forest in the theater it was pretty scary. I met my cousin that came from Minneapolis and spend time with him he is such a cool cousin he was telling me good advice of school and that he has children also that he remembers when I was a baby. I had bond a lot with my sister in law we have so much in common. I went to church maybe like two or three times this break. But I really didn’t enjoy it because I was sick my whole break so there wasn’t much to do to top that off I had got food poison when I ate sea food at night. But other than that it was nice Christmas was cool I got money and a couple of stuff. I was safe and was away from bad things I was choosing the right. I was also going back to my old post that I would write for this class I was seen how much I have developed verbally and mentally. I really do much just be home and hang out with my mom too it was nice being around her. I was helping my little five year old niece on her homework. My other niece she is eleven months and is starting to teeth it was really nice how you can see someone grow in front of your eyes.

How to Win Friends and Influence People

How to Win Friends and Influence People
Rule 1: Become genuinely interested in other people.
“Do this and you will be welcome anywhere”
“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you in two years by trying to get other people interested in you”
“Ask questions to other people, questions that they will enjoy answering”

I will apply this new rule by becoming friends and influence them by approaching in a positive attitude. When you talk to a person always make sure you focus only on that particular individual and don’t get distracted by anything else.  Another way I would apply this new rule is that you don’t have to talk about yourself maybe something that they might like and maybe something that is in common between you and that person. Another important thing that will help you to build a genuine interest in others is to be willing to step into their shoes and look at the world through their eyes. Giving eye contact is very important if you are trying to become friends with someone or when you try to influence someone, they might think that you are lying because your eyes are wondering around not looking seriously at that person.  Give it your undivided attention, your voice, eyes, mind and body must be as one. The Simple Way to Make a Good Impression.
Rule 2: Smile
“Actions speak louder than words, and a smile says, “I like you”. You make me happy. I am glad to see you.”
“You don’t feel like smiling? Then force yourself to smile.”
“It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign (witness or indication) of friends.”

I am already applying this method on myself because when I approach someone

rule 3: Remember names
"A man's name is to the sweetest and most important sound in any language"
"If you don't remember names, you are headed to trouble"
i honestly don't always apply this method but i would do so. i sometimes forget peoples name and i know thats a bad thing because then it kind of looks like you didn't pay attention to them. a way that you wont forget someones name is by repeating it over and over in your head. also, when the conversation is over and you saying the last goodbyes say bye and whatever there name is.

Rule 4: Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
"If you aspire to be a good conversationalist, be an attentive listener."
"Remember that the man you are talking to is a hundred times more interested in himself and his wants and his problems than he is in you and your problems. "
i apply this method to myself , i am a very good person to communicate with. i can make a conversation of something small. Also, when i use this method i don't necessarily just talk about myself because not everyone is going to be interested in something i say so i talk about what we share in
1. stay focus
2. listen closely
3.
Rule 5: Talk in terms of the other man's interest.
"The royal road to a man's heart is to talk about  the things he treasures most."

REFLECTION: WHAT I LEARNED ABOUT THIS SIX WAYS TO MAKE PEOPLE LIKE YOU WERE THAT WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO TALK TO SOMEONE YOU DONT TALK ABOUT YOUR INTEREST NOR THERE BUT WHAT YOU GUYS SHARE AND LIKE IN COMMON. ALSO WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT YOURSELF THE ONLY THINK THAT YOU MAKE ABOUT THE OTHER PERSON IS THAT YOU THOUGHTS AND WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO SAY IS NOT VALUED

“The Six Attitude Of High Achievers”

“The Six Attitude Of High Achievers”
John R. Noe
1. Make no small plans
This is one of the few of high achievers. What this means is that when you are a high achiever you never tempt to think small you always want to think big and do big things that normally you wouldn’t think of doing.  You want to overcome new things that you’ve always planned or dreamed.  Making little plans only make you feel that that’s the only things you can do.

This is also another quote that is similar to number 1. You have to dedicate yourself to overcome obstacles and do big things. Don’t become discourage when you try and do something and you did not achieve it, it just means that you have to try harder. Giving up is making small plans to yourself. You are closing your mind to do beautiful things because you are so selfies and only think that you can’t achieve things that no one else tempt to try. I like this because I don’t like making no small plans that’s only for people that are scared of achieving new things in life.

3. Are willing to prepare
This is very important to me because I have to prepare myself now to successes later on in life. I have to do well in high school to continue with my education. Preparing myself is a good way to choose the right and stay in the right path. I am willing to do my best so I can be something big and peruse my dreams. Success starts with my way of preparation and how I’m doing right know will affect my life when I’m older. When I don’t prepare myself for something I should expect to fail or just not do good. Preparing yourself helps you to be a better you.
I like this quote because you can expect something good to happen if you haven’t prepared yourself for it. An example you can’t expect to get a 100% on the test if you didn’t study and prepared yourself for it. If you don’t study and prepare yourself then don’t expect to do good expect to fail and have a low grade. If you prepare to fail then you are ready to fail and never succeed in life.

4. Are willing to risk failure

I really like this quote that I found in the internet. What it means to me is that you must take a risk to fail and then you will experience the true success. It indicates that not all the time you will be 100%, but it’s worth taking risk to. You must be willing to take chances even if you might not successes I’m not saying bad but why not tempt to risk. This isn’t as much inspiring as it is statistical – the more times you try, the more you will fail and succeed. To avoid failure is to avoid success. The difference between willing to fail and unwilling to fail is by taking the risk. If you never risk you never try and if you never try you don’t succeed. You have to tempt to think outside the box, life is full of surprises in which I mean that you might fail or you might not. But not all the time that you are willing to risk something you are going to succeed. You have to be willing to fail in order to try and succeed. If you fail there is always a next time. Like I said life is full of chances so take them even if you fail. It’s better to fail but at least knowing that you tried inside of failing with out risking.
6. Have heart
What this means is that don’t be a mean person to others. Be someone that a friend can talk to when they are having problems. Don’t push people away. An example of having a heart can be like when someone is not having a good day ask what’s wrong and be there for them just like you would want someone to be there for you. Having a heart doesn’t mean it has to be financially it can be mentally. Another example can be like when you see someone getting bullied stand up for them. Have a good heart and help someone that needs help.

How I would apply for this attitude would be becoming a better person toward others. Being a kind helpful person and help people that are not having good day. I already use this attitude towards the people around me. I use this attitude when I see someone not having a good day or when something is wrong with a sibling. An example is when I see an old man laid down in the side walk I came up to him and gave him money. It’s not about how much I gave him but I helped in the way that made me feel good towards myself.

The six attitudes of high achievers
Overall reflection: what I learned from this six attitude where a lot of things. It made me understand that in order to succeed you have to make no little plans. In a way that it’s better to dream big and commit yourself to achieve what you want. Second, do what they fear an example that had come across my mind was that you have to think outside the box, do what you know others won’t do. Think differently. Third, are willing to prepare. This is very important to me because I have to prepare myself now to successes later on in life. If you don’t prepare yourself for something don’t expect to do good. Preparing yourself helps you to be a better you. Fourth, are willing to risk failure that you must take a risk to fail and then you will experience the true success. To avoid failure is to avoid success. The difference between willing to fail and unwilling to fail is by taking the risk. Fifth, are teachable an example of this is like when you are doing wrong and someone is trying to teach you that you are doing wrong don’t be close minded and ignore. Being unteachable doesn’t help you succeed all it does is that it doesn’t help you improve or better yourself from where you are. Sixth, have heart be someone that a friend can talk to when they are having problems. Don’t push people away.
